چکیده

Lignocellulosic biomass is accepted to be one of the best sustainable alternatives for overcoming fossil fuel dependence and reduce environmental pollution. Intensive research studies have been carried out on conversion this big potential source via chemical biochemical processes miscellaneous chemicals. According present methods conversion, cellulose hemicellulose parts plant can converted platform chemicals by hydrolysis, dehydration rehydration reactions in presence acidic medium. In study, efficient conditions Artichoke (Cynara Scolymus L.) leaves stalks valuable (formic acid, acetic acid 5-hydroxymetilfurfural) were investigated using (HCl, HNO3 H2SO4) catalyzed hydrothermal reaction. Experiments performed temperature range 150°C - 300°C at pH values 2.0 3.0 with a reaction time 1 hour. Evolution liquid their variations respect parameters determined HPLC related analysis

Inhibition of cholesterol biosynthesis in primary cultured rat hepatocytes by artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) extracts.

High-dose aqueous extracts from artichoke leaves were found to inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis from 14C-acetate in primary cultured rat hepatocytes in a concentration-dependent biphasic manner with moderate inhibition (approximately 20%) between 0.007 and 0.1 mg/ml and more strong inhibition at 1 mg/ml. Cytotoxic effects detected by lactate dehydrogenase leakage and the 3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol...

Phenolic Compounds from Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) By- products and their Antimicrobial Activities

Cynara scolymus L. is a medicinal plant frequently used in traditional medicine for liver diseases. The aim of this study is to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the different parts of Artichoke. Maximum antimicrobial activity was observed with methanolic extract of bound phenols for (bract and heart) against Gram negative bacteria. The MIC values for bound phenols from heart were (63μg/ml...

In Vitro Phytoequivalency of Artichoke Extracts (Cynara scolymus L.) and Their Drug Products

In this study, the quantitative amounts of chlorogenic acid (CA) in spray dried artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) leaf extract (SD) and standardized artichoke commercial products (CP1, CP2) were calculated by using HPLC. The amounts of CA were 4.66±2.96x10 mg/capsule and 27.9±9.98x10 mg/capsule for CP1 and CP2 respectively. The in vitro phytoequivalance of SD, CP1 and CP2 were evaluated by using t...

Sensory evaluation of biscuits enriched with artichoke fiber‐rich powders (Cynara scolymus L.)

The artichoke by-products from the canning industry are mainly used for silage, being minimally revaluated. The ways of extraction of by-products of artichoke into fiber-rich powders modify their industrial applications in biscuits, as the sensory evaluation may change compared with the reference fiber (Pea fiber, P) used with commercial biscuit. In this sensory study biscuits enriched with fib...

The influence of supplementation with artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) extract on selected redox parameters in rowers.

High-intensity physical exercise decreases intracellular antioxidant potential. An enhanced antioxidant defense system is desirable in people subjected to exhaustive exercise. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of supplementation with artichoke-leaf extract on parameters describing balance between oxidants and antioxidants in competitive rowers. This double-blinded study was...
